I was driving from Coos Bay to Beaverton to spend Labor Day weekend with my aunt and cousin when I spotted this huge dust devil while going through construction on I-5. Traffic was moving right along, and I was lucky to have my digital camera in the passenger seat of my truck and managed to catch these few pictures before I passed the disturbance. The timing couldn't have been better-the dust devil dissipated just as I finished driving by-I have a few additional pictures of the very faint dust in the air right next to the highway, but those pictures aren't as dramatic as the first few.
When I first saw the dust devil it reminded me of home back in Minnesota-but the weather was way too nice for tornadoes!
