The Charleston Fire Department's annual Fourth of July pancake breakfast was a big hit with food for the old folks and fire engines for the kids. The guys and girls who run into burning buildings proved that they can turn up the heat without burning the breakfast, eggs, panckaes, plenty of syrup, and some very tasty suasages made the early morning crowd as happy as if they'd taken the jet to New Orleans and had breakfast at Brennans. And best of all the price didn't wreck the family budget. So the money goes to a good cause, the food wasn't wasted and everyone leaves happy...okay so maybe there were a few waddling away, but that can happen at a pancake breakfast.
