The story of Marshfield Pioneer Cemetery and our experiences with those in charge. After being told we could "adopt a plot" then not being able to come up with over $300 for a Headstone Repair Workshop, further requests to adopt and care for the cemetery were ignored. Despite the Cemetery website stating that the cemetery is well-maintained, this is what Marshfield Pioneer Cemetery looked like on November 14th, 2009. It is heartbreaking!

I'm more concerned with the destruction of our grammar than our "histiry".

Your heart is in the right place but your facts are wrong. It usually takes 4 hours to restore one monument with special equipment, yet only minutes to topple it. Workers are asked not to weed-eat around stones to save them.

If you want to help, come out to one of the two cleaning sessions and learn why things happen as they do, before driving away some of the most dedicated volunteers we have. 100 years of weather and neglect don't go away in the five years.

I and my family serve on a cemetery commity. It takes a lot of work and effort to maintain a cemetery. A lot of money and man hours. Maybe you should be a volunteer.

It takes a lot of work to maintain the cemetery. Too bad PSI of Oregon cannot remember the amount of $30 per person was a donation for the class. Learn more and complain less.

Criticisms on spelling and pointing the finger and being ashamed doesn't make the looks of Marshfield Pioneer any better. Reform, renovating, refurbishing, re-mediating it all starts with one at a time.......with people who DO!

PSI did do alot of work there and then were threatened by someone who misreprestened themselves as a Director for the historic society...I know this, I was there, and filmed. It was a job that cost them over $200 in equipment and disposal of trash!

You may want to get your facts straight, Mr Jensen. Perhaps you may want to read what I have read re the communication, or lack thereof, from the "Director" of the Society regarding this "donation". Research before writing - you should know this, a

I stand behind what PSI was trying to do. Its sad that because they are a paranormal group that they are treated this way. I see it evreyday. I am very proud and honored to have them help keep our history alive. Thank you PSI.

I think if a group like PSI would like to go in and weed, pick up trash and do some manual labor, they should be welcomed by whoever is in charge. PSI just wants to help preserve history.

I have walked among the graves of loved ones in Marshfield cemetery and have not seen any signs of work in the last 3 month.Weed and grass are so talk that you can not even see the grave #because of the lack of maintenance. What do the other cites do?

Besides that if someone did do some thing wrong i would never disrespect the work they did, but gently correct and not put down. That is very childish and plain rude. Something needs to be done, and that mean change.

Yes, I agree with the other posts. This is sad but what is even more sad is your spelling. Perhaps it would be wise to focus on improving yourself so you don't look a fool when you post things on a public site.

Keyboard Commadoes are a dime a dozen in forums like this. They are nagging little trolls who have nothing better to do than criticize spelling. They have no life and that's why they suck.

To those who think you are so educated and spell-smart.at times when upset, angry or hurt..an error, or wrong key hit, does not mean you are ignorant of what is right or wrong..you are rude and show it..the heart was in the right place, yours???
