The first weekend in May means one thing-it's time for the annual Race & Ace Challenge near Bend.
On May 5th, I headed to Mt. Bachelor and Sunriver for a day of snowboarding and golf. Along with KGW Sports Anchor and golfing buddy Adam Bjarnson, we joined 100 or so other adventure seekers for a competition on the slopes and the links.
In the two person team competition, we placed seventh out of seven-last again. But, we also had a blast-again. Part of that has to do with tackling the tricky slalom course on snowboards. Though I ski even less than I board, I'm sure I could shave some seconds off my time by skiing the Mt. Bachelor course next year.
In addition, recently retired NFL quarterback Drew Bledsoe-a Race & Ace veteran-was also on hand again. Drew (pictured with me) helped his four person team stay in the title hunt with his skiing prowess and long drives.
